Primary Bath

There were so many beautiful elements to the primary bathroom that instead of opting for a gut renovation, we decided instead to show how, with a few ‘smaller’ upgrades, it’s possible to totally transform a room.

We kept the original travertine countertops, flooring, and tiling, and used this and the colors within it to inspire our designs. We added drama and depth to the ceiling with crown molding and a dark paint, changed out all the light fixtures and hardware, and had fun with the scalloped Pickett fence style window shutters, which help give privacy without blocking all the light as the original shutters did. A matching scalloped-shaped teal backsplash adds another fun element to the otherwise original millwork. Finally, the bold wallpaper from Swedish brand Rebel Walls adds beautiful elegance to the room and brings the entire space together to a warm, inviting, and beautiful space that feels perfectly suited to this grand Brooklyn brownstone.
